Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Understand the policy and legislative requirements of undertaking a Root Cause Analysis. Develop skills in conducting the RCA process.
The goal of the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process is to find out what happened, why it happened, and to determine what can be done to prevent it from happening again.
This RCA training is being conducted as two, 3-hour virtual interactive sessions over two days. It will take you through all the steps to conduct an RCA for severe harm and frequent clinical incidents. The training will introduce you to systems thinking and focus on improving and redesigning systems and processes to prevent harm to future patients. A key aspect to be explored will be the relationship between the system of care and individual human performance to improve the effectiveness of recommendations.
This is a 6-hour training session. We acknowledge attendance and time spent in learning which may be used to apply for CPD points from your professional registration body.
